What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign treatment is a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign shows you your complete treatment plan based on your Invisalign Provider’s prescription, from the initial position of your teeth towards the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth to move them little by little. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position.

Deciding whether to commit to undertaking orthodontic work is a big step. Invisalign, the clear aligner trusted by over 5 million patients worldwide.

Invisalign Certified Connectivity Cheam Dental Practice are extremely delighted to use the revolutionary state-of-the-art iTero Intra Oral Digital Scanner which has steered a upheaval in 3D digital dentistry. Traditional dental impressions are replaced with highly accurate digital images.

The scanner is placed gently against your teeth and we take a series of pictures, usually one tooth at a time, from different angles to create a series of 360-degree images, they are all then laced together to create the 3D image which can be viewed by you as it is being created.

What we can treat with Invisalign?

    Overcrowded Teeth

Inconsistency between your teeth size and jaw size can be the primary cause of teeth overcrowding. The challenge of removing plaque with overcrowded teeth leads to excess plaque accumulation. Not only does overcrowded teeth lower your self esteem, but can also cause decaying of teeth and the likely possibility of gum disease,

    Gapped Teeth

Undersized or missing teeth create gaps and spacing problems between teeth. The risk of such spacing means your teeth gums aren’t adequately protected, which can result in periodontal pockets. These pockets appear as a result of gum disease which leads to deeper spaces being created around your teeth.

    Open bite

Strain on teeth alignment (especially in younger patients) such as thumb sucking or tongue thrusting can lead to Open bite. Not only can an untreated open bite affect you aesthetically, it can hinder speech, lead to poor or even painful chewing. Research suggests that serious conditions from open bite can also include temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD).

    Crossbite

Crossbite happens when the upper teeth are on the inside of the lower teeth. This can cause the normal occlusion of teeth to adversely wear, asymmetrical growth of teeth of the lower jaw and can in some cases risk bone loss and gum disease.
